Edgar Guillermo Vallejo Guarín, known as Beto el Gitano, was arrested on an International Arrest Warrent issued in the United States.
One of the most wanted Colombian drug barons, Edgar Guillermo Vallejo Guarín, known as Beto el Gitano, has been arrested in a luxury Madrid hotel.
The joint operation between the Guardia Civil and the National Police took place on Saturday morning on an International Detention Order issued in the United States and with the collaboration of the United States DEA. The United States was offering a 5 million dollar reward to anyone who could offer information leading to the drug runner’s arrest.
Vallejo Guarín has a long history of violence, money laundering and of corruption top level civil servants, and he has also been linked to several assassinations.
