Málaga leads Spain in overnight hotel stays

There was a five per cent increase in visitor numbers over the first seven months of this year compared to last.
The province of Málaga saw the largest increase in the number of overnight stays in hotels along the Spanish coastline for January to July this year, with 478,686 more than a year ago.
The increase of 5.1% was welcomed by the manager of the Costa del Sol Tourist Board, Ana Gómez who said the number was only beaten by Las Palmas.
There were 10,057,589 overnight stays in Málaga hotels over the first seven months of the year, and over the same time 3,795,696 passengers arrived at Málaga airport, an increase of 1.2% over 2007.
