The followers of Balta Lorenzo think they will be healthier by not eating cooked food.
A group of nudists who live in the Málaga village of Ojén have decided to eat only raw food, believing that it will stop them from becoming ill. There are thought to be less than 100 people in Spain on such a crudivengan diet which they claim is the only one which does not destroy the properties and enzymes in the foods which are lost by cooking.
The diet was introduced to Spain by Balta Lorenzo 18 years ago, and he told the EFE news agency that it is the oldest diet in the world, given that it existed before the discovery of fire.

Now Balta and some of his followers live naked, either permanently or temporarily, in a finca called La Cascada in Ojén where next weekend they will be holding the first international crudivegan festival in Spain, to coincide with the full moon.
