World famous British scientist, Stephen Hawking, has made the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, where he asked the apostle for ‘hope, justice and love’ after covering part of the famous ‘camino’ in his wheelchair.
His daughter Lucy spoke for him and told the press that it was his first visit to the city and that he was very excited to be there as it was ‘an historic city’. He thanked the locals for the warm welcome he had received.
The physicist is also in Santiago to collect the first Fonseca Prize and says he intends to stay for a week to give him a chance to get to know the local university community.
