The booms were caused by two Eurofighters flying at 37,000 feet.
The Minister for Development, Magdalena Álvarez, has said that the Ministry of Defence is to investigate and will try to avoid a repetition of the shocks suffered by Málaga and part of the Costa del Sol which was rocked by two explosions as two military planes broke the sound barrier.
The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that the blasts, which rocked windows in the capital at 0940am on Friday morning, was caused by two Eurofighters from the Morón de la Frontera airbase which broke the sound barrier at 37,000ft. over Málaga. There is a legal limit in place of 35,000 ft.
The planes were taking part in an exercise called ‘Sirio’ and it seems the sonic boom was exaggerated by the climatic conditions at the time.
