The Royal Family will see a 2.7 percent increase in funding for next year in the budgets which have been described by the Minister, Pedro Solbes, as austere.
We now know some details of next year’s 2009 state budget proposals.
The Government is to enforce a wage freeze on all minister’s wages, including that of the Prime Minister, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero who keeps his 91,982 € 40 cents per year.
The political parties will get 119 million € in the new budget, that’s 17 less than this year, and the state grants for electoral costs are to be cut.
However the Spanish Royal Family will see an increase in funding with 8.9 million € available for their costs next year, an increase of 2.7% on this year’s funding.
The budget proposals will be debated in Congress on October 21 and 22.
