Esteban Murillo Zubiri was arrested in Bidarrain on a European Arrest Warrent.
The alleged ETA terrorist, Esteban Murillo Zubiri, has been arrested by the French police in the southern town of Bidarrain.
He has been wanted by the Spanish authorities since 2007 when a European Arrest Warrant was issued against him.
The French judicial authorities have already ordered that he be held in prison on remand. It’s the third arrest of an ETA terrorist in less than two weeks in France following the detention of Unai Fano and María Lizarraga on September 23.
Zubiri is accused of being a member of the ETA Nafarroa commando and of lending his home to members of the gang from 1979 onwards. He has spent some time on the run under a false identity in Mexico and also in Chile.
