Thousands demonstrate in support of ETA in Bilbao as bomb shatters court building in Tolosa

There was a phone warning ahead of the expolosion at the courts in Tolosa, Guipúzcoa.

Thousands of people took to the streets of Bilbao on Saturday evening in support of ETA and the political wing Batasuna. The demonstrators were angry at the recent court decisions which have declared many other groups as illegal, given their support for the Basque terrorists.
They carried banners in support of ETA prisoners, and other making independence demands.

At the end of the 50 minute march, ex ETA prisoner, Ángel Alcade, attacked the Government for ‘taking democracy to the waste disposal unit’ and said now was the time that democracy arrived in Euskal Herria.

It came after a security guard miraculously saved his life when ETA exploded a ten kilo bomb outside the court buildings at Tolosa. Two terrorists were caught on camera leaving a rucksack containing the bomb at the doors of the building. The guard had left the building just seconds before after ETA gave a phone warning about the bomb. The explosion caused extensive material damage. This new attack comes just 12 days after the murder of the Army Officer Luis Conde.

There are now also reports that Batasuna, the political wing of ETA which has been outlawed in Spain, have been meeting and re-organising in France ahead of the news that they also face illegalisation in the neighbouring country. It comes after the French police arrested 14 members and directors of Batasuna last month.

National Court Judge, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, has meanwhile ordered three members of the Segi youth group to prison on remand, after they were arrested in Navarra last Wednesday on vandalism charges. A fourth person was released by the court.
