The five beams, which date from the tenth century were removed from sale in 2006.
Christie’s King Street branch in London will tomorrow (Tuesday) auction the five tenth century beams, each one about 6 metres long, from Córdoba mosque which were removed from sale back in 2006.
The sale comes as part of a sale of Islamic and Indian art at starts at 11am CET.
An out of court agreement has now allowed for the pieces to go on sale and each beam is expected to reach between 194,000 and 646.000 €. Part of the proceeds are to go to charities in Córdoba under the agreement.
The sale goes ahead after the Cabildo of Córdoba Cathedral, which now runs the Mosque, declined to claim ownership of the beams last September.
