The 62 year old forestry worker remains in intensive care.
A 62 year old man remains in the Intensive Care Unit of the Requena Hospital in Valencia today, affected by the flesh-eating bacteria, Streptococcis Pyrogenes, which has already led to him losing his left arm. The bacteria generally appears only as laryngitis and doctors say it is very rare for it to lead to such circumstances.
Doctors treating Federico García Velázquez, a forestry worker, say they have not seen such a case for some 12 years.
He was admitted on September 15th and suffered the amputation of his arm a week later.
