The retired golfer was admitted to hospital on Monday after fainting.

Spanish retired golfer Severiano Ballesteros is reported this morning to continue in a serious but stable condition in intensive care in the La Paz hospital in Madrid.

A statement has now been placed on his webpage in which he thanks everyone for their support since he was admitted to hospital after fainting on Monday this week.

A program of tests is expected to end today amid unconfirmed reports that the golfer may have some serious hereditary condition.
