Pudding means shit for Spanish people, and shit is not a good complement
for el menu del dia. In Spain we use to have icecreams as dessert, thanks
to the good weather so different as yours which forces you to eat pudding
instead of more light options.
Anyway, you will be always welcome to Spain!

larger | smaller
By h.b. - Oct 10, 2008 - 8:05 AM
The average price for a menu in Málaga is 7€ 55 cents.
Málaga has the cheapest ‘menu del día’ in Spain according to a new report from the OCU Organisation of Consumers and Users. The average price for a typical menu of two dishes, and drink is 7 € 55 while the national average is 9 € 50.
The survey looked at the prices of 400 menus in 100 restaurants in Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Sevilla, Valencia, Vigo, Zaragoza and Málaga.
However researchers discovered that although Málaga was the cheapest, none of the menus there included a pudding, and oddly there was never a salt cellar on the table.

I'm sure the 'Menus' I've had in Malaga have included pudding. Do they mean
they just serve fruit, or as Maria so eloquently put it, ice cream?
Incidentally, I've just received a copy of the book Menu del Dia by Rohan
Daft -an absolute must for all 'Menu' fans.
