This time it was a clean win without the help of the safety car.

Fernando Alonso has won his second consecutive Formula One grand prix this morning in Japan, and this time without any luck from the safety car after starting fourth on the grid.

Renault put four laps less fuel in Alonso’s car in the middle of the race, allowing the man from Asturias to make a 12 second lead in the 25 lap section, taking him out of Kubica’s challenge.
Robert Kubica was second and Kimi Raikkonen was third.

Lewis Hamilton had a collision with Felipe Massa early in the race taking both men to the back of the field. Massa recovered the better of the two men and made eight to cut Hamiliton’s lead in the World Championship to six with two races to go. Hamilton ended 12th with a damaged car.
