The case is linked to 60 kilos of drugs found in a container in Valencia port

Two Guardia Civil have been arrested as part of an operation agaist drug trafficking in Tavernes Blanques, Valencia.

Operacion Gorrión has also resulted in the arrest of a local policeman from Pedralba among the total of 15 people arrested so far. More arrests have not been ruled out.

The case is related to a haul of 60 kilos of drugs in a container in Valencia port, and investigations started as long as eleven months ago.

Several firearms, ten luxury vehicles and other items have been impounded in the case as eleven private homes have been searched.

Meanwhile the Provincial Court in Alicante has started to hear the case against 25 alleged drug traffickers who are accused of distributing cocaine and hashish in the Villena area. 21 of the 25 had admitted their guilt.
