The citizenship classes have been a political potatoe in Spain with the PP controlled region against the whole idea, and complicating the matter by giving the classes in English.
Thousands of people have taken to the streets of Valencia, Castellón and Alicante against the decision of the Valencia regional government to give the new citizenship classes in schools in English.
Some 7,000 took part in total last night.
Teachers, parents and some students are all calling for the resignation of the regional education councillor, Alejandro Font de Mora, claiming the measure has only led to chaos and confusion in the classroom. They say a new pact for education in the region is needed.
