The boat is expected to leave the port this afteroon.
The Dutch boat, ‘Women on Waves’ is reported to have taken an 18 year old woman from Valencia to carry out an abortion on her without the knowledge of her parents. Under Dutch law that is legal, under Spanish law it is not.
The procedure was taken on the woman who was six and a half weeks pregnant by the ingestion of pills. Reports say she heard of the possibility when seeing the boat on television. It follows the news that three other women aborted on the boat last Friday.
The ship from the non-governmental organisation ‘Woman on Waves’ arrived in Valencia Port on October 16, to start a free campaign of attention and information and is expected to leave this afternoon.
