smallerBy Press Statement - Soutermedia.com - Nov 6, 2008 - 8:20 PM Amy Fitzpatrick went missing on New Year's Day this year, and there seems to be no reliable clue as to her whereabouts.The Irish Ambassador to Spain, Peter Gunning, and the Consul, Breda Lee, visited Málaga on 5 November 2008. They were received there by Teniente Coronel D. Francisco Bueno Bueno of the Guardia Civil.
The main purpose of the meeting was to obtain an updated account of the investigation into the disappearance of Amy Fitzpatrick, who was last seen near her home in Calahonda on 1st January 2008. The Irish Embassy has offered assistance in the case and there has been regular contact and cooperation between the Irish and Spanish authorities since Amy’s disappearance.
The Ambassador and the Consul were accompanied to the meeting by Amy’s mother, Ms. Audrey Fitzpatrick and her partner Mr Dave Mahon.
The Ambassador and family received a comprehensive account of the efforts thus far in the case and of the continuing investigation. The Ambassador took the opportunity to again express appreciation for the efforts made in the case by the Spanish authorities. Arrangements were made to facilitate continuing communications.
In such a case there is always the possibility that some piece of useful information can be remembered and passed to the authorities. In the case of anything arising which could be of possible interest regarding Amy, please inform the authorities by calling 112 or 062.
