11 youths aged between 16 and 23 have been arrested in Málaga, considered to be part of a neo-Nazi group after they hijacked a local bus and attacked a Moroccan man.
It happened at 1,15 am on Sunday morning on a bus on the route between Málaga and Torremolinos.
The group were travelling in the back of the bus, and started to insult the 25 year old Moroccan man. Because the group were wearing Nazi insignia and all of them were skinheads, the Moroccan decided to get off at the next stop and run, along the Avenida de Velázquez in Málaga. Ten of the group got off the bus to give chase, catching him and beating him, with one reportedly using a knife on his neck. While this was going on the remaining member of the group on the bus forced the driver to wait.
63 passengers were held for eight minutes and one woman from Ceuta suffered breathing problems when sprayed with what is thought to have been a tear gas which the group then sprayed inside the vehicle.
They also threatened the passengers with the safety hammers used to break windows in the case of an accident.
Local police then intercepted the vehicle, assisted the passengers affected by the spray and identified the members of the gang. An 11cm long knife was recovered, with an 80cm long chain and other items. Three of the group were found to be under age. Three were from Málaga, four from Torremolionos, and others from other parts of Andalucia, Granada, Algeciras, and Almería.
The action of the local police has been praised by Málaga City Hall and those accused will appear in court shortly.
