The man, who is also accused of killing the Huelva five year old Mari Luz Cortés, was in court on a separate charge of sexually molesting a four year old.

The man who is accused of the murder of the Huelva five year old, Mari Luz Cortés, faced a hostile crowd outside the courts in Sevilla today, with many of the public shouting ‘Assassin’.

He arrived at the court protected by a dozen or so Guardia Civil.
Santiago del Valle was in court on charges of molesting a fourth child near her home in the city and told the court that he started liking young girls aged 7 or 8 after the death of his own two year old daughter in a traffic accident, but that he knew that was not right.

He claimed that in this case he only grabbed the four year old in the public patio to stop her falling over. A witness told the court that she clearly saw Del Valle from the window of her home as he ‘rubbed the genitals’ of the child on December 8, 2006.

The case is now awaiting sentence from the judge.
