Her six year old son died in the fire after being left home alone.

The mother of a six year old child who died in a house fire over the weekend in Lloret de Mar, and her boyfriend have been arrested and face charges of ‘serious negligence resulting in death’.

The 30 year old Spanish woman and her 23 year old Romanian boyfriend had left the child ‘home alone’ and were absent when the fire started, it seems by chance at 7am on Sunday. They didn’t arrive back home until noon. The regional police, Los Mossos d’Escuadra, consider that the absence of the couple was determinant in the death of the youngster who died from smoke inhalation.

House fires resulted in the deaths of five others across Spain this weekend.
