It comes as record numbers are making their way across the Strait of Gibraltar ahead of the festive season.
Three people have been arrested and a further seven have been indicted in a false ferry ticket scam in Algeciras.
The group are thought to have printed 758 fake tickets and duplicated 500 more after gaining access to one of the wi-fi computer routers. The group were selling the tickets at lower than the official face value.
Meanwhile traffic levels on the Algeciras to Ceuta route are reported to be 11.21% higher than at this time last year at more than 2.3 million passengers this year so far, in some 616,796 vehicles.
