Three Cayuco boats carrying immigrants have arrived so far this new year.Three Cayuco boats have brought 142 immigrants to the Canary Islands so far this year.
The first arrivals of the year was a boat which reached the island of La Gomera on January 2.
56 came ashore on the coast of Argunieguín in Las Palmas on January 3.
The latest boat came ashore on Sunday in El Hierro where it is thought that there were as many as nine children among the travellers.
