Murcia hard hit by unemployment

Murcia is the region to see the largest increase in unemployment over 2008.
Murcia is the region of Spain to see the largest increase in unemployment over 2008.
The local rate rose by 76% over the year and there are now more than 90,000 out of work in the region.
The regional government is calling on the Prime Minister to take measures which generate confidence, while local Socialists are criticizing the lack of action and ‘empty policies’ from the P.P. regional president, Ramón Luis Valcárcel.
The region has been hard hit by the construction slow down.
