This time the snow falls are expected to be restricted to the north and centre of the country.
Even more cold and snow is on its way to affect Spain from Tuesday as a new front enters from the north east of the peninsular. It will take the snow line in many parts of the country back down to between 600 and 900 metres.
Spokesman from the Spanish Meterological Agency AEMET, Fermín Elizaga, explained that it was a different weather pattern than from last week as temperatures will not be as cold, but 25 provinces are nonetheless on alert for the risk of snow on Tuesday. Albacete, Asturias, Ávila, Burgos, Cáceres, Cantabria, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Guipúzcoa, La Rioja, León, Lugo, Madrid, Navarra, Orense, Palencia, Salamanca, Segovia, Soria, Teruel, Toledo, Valladolid, Zamora y Zaragoza.
In addition an orange alert for extrema cold has been issued with temperaturas down to -12 in Guadalajara.
The new front is less likely to produce snow in the south of the country but will again affect the Madrid sierra where 8cms can be expected. Lighter falls are also forecast for the capital itself as are fresh falls of snow in Castilla y León.
