Spanish sports paper Marca has claimed that the Real Madrid Chairman, Ramón Calderón, placed uncertified voters at the last club assembly.

The General Director of Membership of Real Madrid, Luis Bárcena, has promised a complete investigation into the allegations of vote tampering in the club, published in the Marca newspaper, and has not denied the claims which said that people without voting rights were decisive in the approval of the club’s accounts.

Bárcena said that he accepted the responsibility for what happened in the assembly on December 7, saying that Chairman Ramón Calderón and the club board were not to blame.

Marca had claimed that it was Calderón who had placed people without voting rights in the meeting, so that he could advance the accounts and budgets for the year.

Bárcena also announced his intention to expel from the club those members who had ‘infiltrated’ the assembly.

A statement from Ramón Calderón, made on Tuesday night, said ‘I swear on my honour’ that he did not vote tamper and has said neither will he resign nor will he call elections in the club.
‘Let me work please’, he said.
