The Madrid High Court has ruled the Ministry for Development acted incorrectly in removing the statue The High Court in Madrid has declared the removal of a statue of Franco on horseback, null, as the Ministry for Development did not follow the correct legal procedures.
The bronze was removed from the Plaza de San Juan de la Cruz in Madrid, in March 2005.
Despite the criticism of the Ministry, the Madrid High Court rejected the idea of the statue being put back, because the new Historical Memory Law would prevent that.
