Five and a half million on Spain's roads for San José

The day, also regarded as Fathers Day in Spain, is only a fiesta in some areas of the country

Thursday is the Dia de San José and is a fiesta in some areas of the country including Madrid and also sees the culmination of the Fallas celebrations in Valencia.
It’s also a fiesta in Murcia and Melilla.

The DGT traffic authority says it expects five and a half million journeys being taken over the weekend.

RENFE Spanish railways has announced they will be offering a total of 106,000 seats on their AVE high speed services between Madrid and Sevilla and Madrid and Málaga. Of those 12,500 are extra seats for the bank holiday.
