More rain and snow for Spain as new front crosses the country

There are alerts for snow across the north of the peninsular

Thirteen provinces across the country are on yellow alert for a risk of snow falls today. They are Asturias, León, Palencia, Burgos, Navarra, Huesca, Guadalajara, Cuenca,Madrid, Segovia, Ávila, Salamanca and Cáceres.

In the Madrid región snowfalls of up to 5 cms are forecast in the sierras.
Meanwhile Zaragoza is on alert for heavy rain and there is a coastal warning of high waves in Galicia.

The conditions are caused as a new front crosses Spain.
Overnight temperatures will rise with the new front, but it will be slightly cooler by day and the unsettled conditions are expected to last until the weekend at least in most areas.

Winds will be SE weak to moderate, although there will be stronger gusts along the Costa Blanca at times. On the Canaries winds will be Northerly moderate.

Showers forecast along the Costas today, with the rain more persistent along the Costa del Sol, but showers less probable along the Costa Cálida and Costa Blanca.
