The cell is believed to have financed the Salafist Combat Group
High Court judge Félix Degayón has issued a warrant for the arrest of the leader of the Islamic cell which was broken up on the Costa del Sol in December.
The cell, led by the Algerian, Salah Edinne Berkoun, is believed to have financed the GSPC, the Salafist Combat Group.
The judge believes that Berkoun may be in Fuengirola, and that ‘he is in contact with Islamic radicals, some of whom are in prison in Spain.’
