A 25 year old woman from Mallorca has turned out to be the lucky holder of the record 126 million € jackpot ticket sold for the Euromillions lottery draw last Friday. The ticket sold in Spain was the only one with the winning combination of 4-23-24-29-31, with lucky star numbers 8 and 9.

It was originally reported that the ticket was sold by the Gato Negro lottery office in Madrid, but it now turns out that the office only validated the ticket, which was bought over the Internet through the Serviapuestas web page.

Spain’s newest millionaire was in bed with the ‘flu all weekend and was completely unaware of her win. Although still ill, she decided to go back into work on Monday for fear of losing her job in the current economic crisis. It was on checking her emails in work that she found one message informing her of her life-changing win.
