The body of a woman and a baby have been washed ashore in Morocco

A change in the wind from Levante to Westerly has resulted in the sea washing up the bodies of a baby and an immigrant mother onto the beaches of Morocco.

The bodies are from a total of 18 thought to be lost when an immigrant boat overturned four miles to the north of Tangiers on Thursday, some 40 kms away from where the first of the missing bodies has now been washed ashore.

As many as seven of the missing 16 bodies are thought to be babies.
