Thousands of fake Viagra pills seized in Alicante

National Police have seized more than 9,000 fake Viagra pills in Alicante which were sold over the Internet on four web sites purporting to be online pharmacies. They are said to have been sold without prescription or any type of medical control, in an operation which brought the group responsible an estimated 50,000 € of income.

The group received around 5 deliveries a week of fake Viagra pills from India and China, which their customers either paid for cash on delivery or were sent anonymously to post office boxes, EFE reports. One of the four people taken into custody was arrested at a post office as he was collecting the organisation’s latest delivery of fake pills.

The 9,000 pills seized were recovered in three property searches in Alicante.
