Murcia is preparing for its second Gay Pride celebration, which takes place in the city this year from 24th to 28th June. The first event last year is reported by La Verdad as a rather quiet affair as far as the street celebration was concerned, where just a manifesto was read out on Plaza Santo Domingo in the city.
Now, the organisers want the street celebration to extend to the area around Plazas Sardoy and Eulalia, with activities centred around Plaza Sardoy. Luis Miguel López from the ‘No te prives’ association told the newspaper the idea is for everyone to come along and join in the fun, ‘regardless of their sexual orientation, race or culture’. The ‘Pecaminata’ association is joining ‘No te prives’ in organising the event.
La Verdad reports another event is to be held in Cartagena on Saturday the 27th, organised by the association Galáctica.
