It's the first time in their history that Xerez make the top category

Tenerife, Xerez and Zaragoza are the three teams from the second división in Spain who have won promotion to the Primera Liga. They replace the three relegated sides, Betis, Numancia and Recreativo.

It’s particularly significant news for Xerez, which will play in the Primera for the first time in their history. They were 2-1 winners against Huesca.

Tenerife came out 1-0 winners against Girona, and return to the Primera after seven years, and Zaragoza celebrated a 3-1 win against Córdoba and return after just one year in the Second division.

Disappointment though for Hércules, who just miss out on promotion, despite winning 4-1 against Albacete.
