Dairy farmers in the region staged the protest to demand a fair price for their milk
Hundreds of protesting dairy farmers drove their tractors through the Galician capital this Thursday, to demand a minimum price for the milk they produce. Público said they are claiming a fair price which will cover the cost of producing and, at least, pay their salaries.
Some 550 tractors were seen on the streets of Santiago de Compostela on Thursday morning, with protests in other towns in the region, including A Coruña and Ferrol, bringing numbers up to more than a thousand.
