There are now no hopes of finding the missing man aliveAn intensive two-day search of the area off the Murcia coast where an immigrant boat sank this Tuesday has failed to find any sign of the passenger who has been missing since the boat went down. The authorities believe there is now no chance of finding him alive and have called off the search, La Verdad reports.
The boat capsized in high seas and strong winds some 30 miles to the SE of Cabo de Palos. The remaining nine passengers were rescued by a passing petrol tanker as the patera was foundering, and one who was seriously ill died before reaching hospital.
Another passenger reported to be in a serious condition is progressing well in hospital, the paper said.
