The longest season of the year was welcomed with sun in Spain

Summer started at 7,46 am on Sunday, and was welcomed in Spain with sun in practically all the country. It lasts until 11,19pm on September 22, and this year is of note because of the low number of astronomic eclipses.

It also gives us a 1 in 15 year opportunity to observe Saturn without rings on September 4 as the earth aligns perfectly with the rings.

93.65 days long, it’s the longest season of the year, and sees days with as much as 15 hours of daylight.

Temperatures are set to fall across Spain for the first few days of the new season, but the long range forecast is for a hotter than normal summer along the Levante Coast this year.
