A woman who walked on a new floor in metallic stiletto heels has been ordered to pay 900 Euro towards the damage

A woman who walked on newly-laid flooring in metallic stiletto heels has been ordered to pay the owner of the property 900 € in compensation.

The Murcia provincial court said in its ruling that she should have realised there was no protective covering on her killer heels and the damage that could cause to the floor. The court turned down, however, the complainant’s request for a completely new floor, judging the damage produced to be merely aesthetic, which it said did not affect its function.

Tribute is paid to the stiletto at an exhibition which runs in Madrid this summer: the fascination and seduction of stiletto heels, which is at the Museo del Traje in Madrid until the end of August. It’s organised by the Shoe Museum of Vigevano in Italy, tracing the history of stilettos from the New Look collection presented by Christian Dior in 1940 until the present day. The exhibition includes designs by Prado, Manolo Blahnik, Louboutin and, of course, Jimmy Choo.
