Two men have died in Sant Pere de Vilamayor in Barcelona, when their private plane crashed into the garden of a private villa and burst into flames.
The two are thought to have died instantly as their plane missed the house by just six metres.
Reports indicate that the two, who were both flying instructors, had switched off the plane’s engine so they could do spiral acrobatic movements, and were then unable to restart it. Such a procedure is normal in aerobatics.
Local residents say they have been complaining for months about the noise from the light aircraft, which they say fly ‘just above the trees’.
