Animal rights protesters stripped off in Times Square
Some 40 members of the PETA animal rights organisation have been protesting about the Sanfermines fiestas which are about to get underway for yet another year in Pamplona.
Many of the protestors stropped to their underwear in the centre of Times Square in New York, and threw themselves to the pavement, covered in red paint and ‘banderillas’. They called on tourists not to visit the fiesta made famous by Ernest Hemmingway and where the famous bull runs through the streets are followed by traditional bull fights.
The Sanfermines fiestas run from July 6 to 14 this year, and many Americans generally make the trip to take part.
