Spanish armada continues in Wimbledon

Four Spanish players are through to the third round, while Rafa Nadal is said to be very upset by the separation of his parents

While reports continue on how Rafael Nadal has been seriously affected by the separation of his parents, Sebastián and Ana Maria, with an item in The Times saying that there had been rumours of problems in the Nadal household for some time, the remaining members of the Spanish armada are progressing in Wimbledon.

Fernando Verdasco, Tommy Robredo, Nicolás Almagro and Alberto Montañés are all through to the third round of the competition, although García-López was knocked out by Roger Federer in three sets.

Verdasco who is seeded 7 beat the Belgium player, Kristof Vliegen in four sets and now meets Montañés who put out the Argentine player Guillermo Cañoas, also in four sets.

Tommy Robredo needed to come back from two sets down to win in three hours and 29 minutes against the Austrian, Stefan Koubek, and now meets the Israeli player Dudi Sela.

Nicolás Almagro, from Murcia beat the Slovakian player, Karol Beck in five sets and goes on to face Robin Soderling.
