It follows the explosives used in the Madrid Train Bombings in 2004 being taken from an abandoned mineThe Spanish Supreme Court has sentenced the Caolines de Merillas S.L. mining company to a 150,000 € fine for the ‘absolute lack of control and loss of explosives ‘ detected at one of their mines.
It was explosives taken from the abandoned Mina Conchita which was used in the March 11 2004 Islamic terrorist attacks on the Madrid commuter trains.
The sentence from the Supreme Court confirms the ruling made in 2006 in the National Court. The company is not expected to launch any further appeals.
