Seven immigrants die in Barbate

The immigrant boat was thought to have been carrying between 30 and 40 people
The bodies of seven immigrants were found on Monday on or near to the Playa de la Aceitera beach in Barbate, Cádiz. The bodies, including two women, where all Moroccan and were found close to a wooden boat which had been thrown onto rocks between Cape Trafalgar and the Mangueta beach.
Another young Moroccan was found at the scene, and is reported to be seriously injured, and is now being treated for hypothermia in the Puerto Real hospital in Cádiz. The rest of the occupants of the boat, thought initially to have been carrying between 30 and 40 people, are reported to have fled the scene on foot.
In a separate incident eight immigrants found on Mallorca have admitted to the Guardia Civil that they arrived on the island in a patera. They were found close to Santanyi and a search for more is continuing.
