The Spanish press reports the player wants to share the 30 million € transfer fee with Barcelona
It looks like the move for the Cameroon player Samuel Eto’o from Barcelona to Manchester City is off.
Reports in the Spanish press indicate the player has demanded a 15 million € bonus from Barcelona for accepting the transfer, and the club is not prepared to pay it.
Barça would collect 30 million if he accepts the deal which would take him to Manchester City for five years, but is not prepared to share that amount with the player.
Manchester City are reported to be prepared to pay a total of 50 million € to get the player for five years, and earlier even the Barça Chairman, Joan Laporta, said that it would make him the best paid player in the world.
We will get full details of the current position on Tuesday when Eto’o’s representative, Josep María Mesalles, is set to give a press conference.
