The Ministry for Health has confirmed 717 cases of the Swine Flu virus in Spain, and confirmed the death of the 20 year old Moroccan mother in Madrid, while the case of a man in Tarragona remains serious.
176 new cases were reported between last Friday and 5pm on Monday according to the latest data from the autonomous regions. All the cases generally see recovery coming in just a few days.
However a 32 year old man in Tarragona continues to give serious concern in the Joan XXIII Hospital in Tarragona where his condition is described as very serious but stable, and in Madrid the 20 year old pregnant woman whose flu has progressed to pneumonia has now died.
Yesterday she underwent a caesarean section with the baby boy bieng born at 28 weeks, in the Gregorio Marañón Hospital. The mother was asthmatic and had spent some days on assisted breathing.
