One year old drowns in tragedy in San Vicente

A one year old boy drowned last weekend when he fell into a water reservoir used for irrigation in La Cañada de Fenollar, between San Vicente del Raspeig and Agost.

It seems the child was staying on the finca, which is owned by the grandmother, with his parents and other relatives. On Saturday the father went to put petrol in the car and the mother thought he had taken the child. However the baby had just wandered off and was found later by the family floating in the reservoir.

The tragedy comes a year after an 11 year old boy lost his life in a similar reservoir in Orihuela.
