36 year old Richard Taylor was on a course at an aerodrome near Toledo
A 36 year old British man has died at the Ocaña aerodrome near Toledo after his parachute failed to open during a parachute jump.
A statement from the Government Delegation for Castilla La Mancha named the man as Richard Taylor, and now an investigation is underway by both the Guardia Civil and the Aerolibre company as to how the accident happened, although a company source is reported as saying the parachute system was not faulty. One theory is that he froze and failed to pull his rip-cord.
The dead man was on the 5th or 6th of a course of seven jumps at the aerodrome.
Another Briton, a 39 year old, died at the same aerodrome in the same way in August last year.
