Three survivors accused of negligent homicide for immigrant deaths in Barbate

Three of the 15 survivors from the immigrant boat which capsized off the coast of Barbate earlier this week face charges of negligent homicide for the deaths of eight passengers on the wooden patera boat. Seven bodies were found on Monday, and an eighth was recovered on Tuesday morning.
Central government offices in Cádiz province told EFE the three suspects are believed to have organised the journey, with claims from others on board that they pushed passengers off into the sea as the boat approached the coast near Barbate. Migrants interviewed by the Civil Guard said it was this which caused the vessel to destabilise and crash onto the rocks.
The search meanwhile continues for other survivors and bodies.
There have been more immigrant arrivals in eastern Andalucía, where a first boat carrying 38 passengers was intercepted 60 miles off Cabo de Gata, Almería province, on Tuesday night. A second vessel was spotted on the Playazo de Rodalquilar beach in the natural park early on Wednesday. Its eight passengers were found nearby and taken into custody.
