The gang posed as police officers using false police identification

Police in Málaga have smashed an armed kidnap and extortion gang whose members posed as police officers to gain their victims’ confidence. They carried forged police identification and even used police terminology when communicating by radio.

The two-phase National Police operation arrested four suspects, all of them Spanish, and three of whom have a previous police record. All four have been remanded to custody.
