Barcelona President, Joan Laporta, said on television on Wednesday that he had presented an offer of about 40 million € for the Valencia striker, David Villa,
Speaking on the programme ’59 segundos’, he said the offer was ‘closer to 40 than 50 million’.
Meanwhile Villa has commented that he is waiting for a decision to be made by his club. ‘The lack of stability benefits nobody’, he said.
Laporta was also asked about the future of Samuel Eto’o, after the rumours of an offer for the Cameroon player from Manchester City. Laporta revealed that Eto’o is not answering his calls and that the talks were suspended, but admitted the player was looking for a good deal, although he has been offered another two years at Barça.
Laporta also admitted contacts with Bayern Munich over Franck Ribery, but he said the club did not want to sell him.
